Easter at the Gammils
We went this morning to the 5th annual Gammil Easter Egg hunt. Kate and Claire were at Ms. Charlene's with Lainee. Each year they have an Easter egg hunt at their house. The girls had a lot of fun. Last night, Lainee colored her Easter dress with a blue sharpie. After trying everything to get it out, I finally just painted over it with liquid white out. It worked enough that you can't see the marks in pictures. I know I will laugh about it later, just not right now.

Catching Up
I have completely neglected my family blog. I am been very busy with Easter outfits and orders promised by Easter that I really haven't done anything but sew. I haven't even done much of anything to even take pictures of, except for Taylor's birthday. We spent several days during Spring Break with getting ready for her friend birthday party, having it, having her family party, and then celebrating on her actual birthday. She had a good one. She was pleased with her presents, most of all her new phone. I was shocked at how many friends she has that text the way that they do. Good call Chris with the unlimited text plan!!

Lainee's hair
Over the weekend, I decided to trim Lainee's hair. It has gotten so long that it wraps around her arms. I am growing it out so we can donate it to Locks of Love, but I don't want to cut it until after the summer. Her hair looks so cute with braids so I need it long. Taylor and I have both donated our hair in the past few years so I thought it would be nice if Lainee had a turn. I only cut off about an inch, just enough to get rid of the dead ends.

My new machine!
For the past week, I have been obsessed and could not quit thinking about the next step up from my sewing machine. When Chris bought it, they told him that this was a great machine for what I was doing (at the time) and that was all I needed and it had so much more than my first sewing machine he bought me 7 years ago. Well, now that I have been sewing every day for the past 4 months, of course I want more. When I was learning to use my machine, I could not believe how may features it had and what all it did. I did not think you could get much better. Then I took the class for new owners, one of the girls there had the step up from my machine. I was blown away. I could not stop thinking about it. I knew the place that Chris bought my machine would let you upgrade, and I have saved up a good amount of money from things I have done in the past few weeks, so I went to just talk to the owner. Well, we were able to work out a deal, I ran to the ATM and home to get my machine and back to the store in record time, and I came home with a new one. I am so excited. It is kind of like going from a Toyota Camry to a Toyota Sequoia. I could not quit smiling in the store and on the way home. This new machine has features that I never dreamed existed. Of course I am going to have to go through learning new features all over again, but it is worth it. I can't wait to get busy with new outfits. I have just been practicing and using scraps tonight, but I think I am ready now! I'm so happy!!!

My other blog
I finally got my pictures together and set up a seperate blog for my clothes. I figured I better go ahead before I get too busy with Easter and spring clothes. I'm still working on a few new things so just keep checking back. I'm taking some more sewing classes in the next few months. One is the ruffle cuff , collared top and ruffled pants class. I think the pants also have ruffles on the bottom (backside), the outfit is so cute! The address is www.bowheadhairbowsandmore.blogspot.com

Merry Christmas!
We had a great day today. I couldn't believe it when Chris said, "Wake up, it's 9:30." We let Lainee sleep with us because we were afraid she would wake up early and see her toys on her way to our room. I guess with all the excitement over the past few days, they were catching up on their sleep. They were really excited about all of their toys. Lainee's favorite was her doll house and Taylor's favorite was her sewing machine. We set it up right next to mine so we could sew together. She has been practicing all day.
Funny story from last year
After making cookies on Christmas Eve, Taylor and I put them on our "Cookies for Santa" plate and put them in the den. I was cleaning up the kitchen and Taylor came in there and said,"Lainee stole Santa's cookies!" I was like, What? She said, Lainee just ran by my room into her room and had cookies in her hand, now she is in the bed eating them. I ran and got my camera and went in her room, she was like a deer in head lights. It was so funny. She just smiled real big, a cookie in each hand, and crumbs falling out of her mouth. I couldn't get mad because it was so funny.
Christmas Eve
On Christmas Eve, we always go to my moms to have Christmas with my family. We go to Chris's moms the day before Christmas Eve. The funniest thing was when Lainee opend her first present, it was a cardboard box (wrapped) with a Princess cash register inside. When she unwrapped the cardboard box, she said,"Oh! Just what I wanted! A new box, this will go perfect in my room!!" She said it with such enthusiasim, she was so happy to get this box. I was laughing so hard that I could not tell her that there was more inside. When I finally told her, she was very excited to get the real present, but it was the cutest, sweetest thing to see her so happy over just a box. Then, the rest of the time when she was opening her gifts, before she had them completely opened, she said,"I know what this is..." Of course she didn't have a clue what any of them were going to be, but she had a blast opening them. Each year has been more fun than the previous year watching them open presents and seeing their reactions. Taylor really wanted a North Face jacket. We kept telling her we weren't sure if we would buy one because she didn't need another jacket. When we opened gifts, she opened the box that looked like the size a jacket would go in, but it was not it. Then she opened all the others and it was not there. After all the gifts were opened, I told Taylor there was a gift she missed under the tree, it was just a small box. When she opened it, there was a note inside that said to go look in my closet. I followed her so I could see her reaction. She was so excited. Even though it is 75 degrees outside, she is still wearing it. Taylor went to bed early after Christmas at my moms but Lainee and I made cookies for Santa, and she didn't even try to take them this year!!
