Almost Christmas

I can't believe it is almost Christmas. I can't wait for a nice long break and to spend time with my family. I can't wait to see the girls open their gifts and see their face on Christmas morning. I think I am done with all my shopping, I'm sure I will be out on Christmas Eve getting last minute things, but I have most of it.

Packed and ready to go!

I THINK I have everything. I'm going to worry about this until we get there, but I think we are ready. Our flight leaves at 12:00 tomorrow so we will get there around 9:00. I can't wait to see my girls faces on the plane and when we get to Disneyworld. This is going to be great!

Great week

Taylor and I had so much fun this week at Easley Amused. Bridget did a great job. She was really good with the kids and really good at teaching art. I can't wait to take another class with her with friends. Here is a picture of my artwork. I'm going to hang mine in my "jungled theme" classroom. Taylor is hanging her monkey in her bathroom, zebra in her room, and giving her lion to daddy to hang in his office. She said we need to spruce up his office.

Summer is here!

Lainee's first day at Lakeside Summer Fun was today. She,of course, had a blast. She has been going to Lakeside since February so it wasn't anything new to her, it will just be fun for me as a mom to be able to take her and pick her up. During the school year, I don't get to take her so this is special to me.

Taylor and I had a blast today at Easely Amused. We will go for 3 days and paint 3 different jungle animals. We did the backgrounds of our canvas today, this is going to be a great mother daughter experience.

Dance Recital

The girls had their dance recital this weekend. They have been practicing every Tuesday since August. They both did great. I knew Taylor would do fine, but I was so worried that Lainee would get stage fright and just stand there or cry. But no, she was making movements the whole time. I can't say for sure if she did everything correct considering every child was doing something different. It was so cute and worth every minute. We were at the recital from 1:00 to almost 6:00.

Mrs. Harrison's B-Day

My assistant's birthday was last week and I told my kids I would put pics on my blog. We had a little surprise party for her. She does so much for me and for the kids. I would not be able to sew at night and do what I have been doing this past year if it weren't for her. She's great. The kids had a great time and I think she did too. She loved the hat I made for her. What was funny was that she didn't even realize that it had a balloon on the end of it until she had been wearing it for some time.

Easter Day

We had a great day today. I love to wake up and see the girls faces as they look through their Easter basket. After church, we went to my moms and ate a huge lunch. We had more food than we do at Thanksgiving. It was so good. Then the girls hunted eggs for the third and final time this year.

Easter Egg Hunt at the Ag Museum

We have been going to the Ag Museum for the Easter Egg Hunt since Taylor was 4 years old. We haven't missed a year. It is a great place because everything is spread out and there is a lot to do. We look forward to this every year.

Easter at the Gammils

We went this morning to the 5th annual Gammil Easter Egg hunt. Kate and Claire were at Ms. Charlene's with Lainee. Each year they have an Easter egg hunt at their house. The girls had a lot of fun. Last night, Lainee colored her Easter dress with a blue sharpie. After trying everything to get it out, I finally just painted over it with liquid white out. It worked enough that you can't see the marks in pictures. I know I will laugh about it later, just not right now.

Catching Up

I have completely neglected my family blog. I am been very busy with Easter outfits and orders promised by Easter that I really haven't done anything but sew. I haven't even done much of anything to even take pictures of, except for Taylor's birthday. We spent several days during Spring Break with getting ready for her friend birthday party, having it, having her family party, and then celebrating on her actual birthday. She had a good one. She was pleased with her presents, most of all her new phone. I was shocked at how many friends she has that text the way that they do. Good call Chris with the unlimited text plan!!

Lainee's hair

Over the weekend, I decided to trim Lainee's hair. It has gotten so long that it wraps around her arms. I am growing it out so we can donate it to Locks of Love, but I don't want to cut it until after the summer. Her hair looks so cute with braids so I need it long. Taylor and I have both donated our hair in the past few years so I thought it would be nice if Lainee had a turn. I only cut off about an inch, just enough to get rid of the dead ends.

My new machine!

For the past week, I have been obsessed and could not quit thinking about the next step up from my sewing machine. When Chris bought it, they told him that this was a great machine for what I was doing (at the time) and that was all I needed and it had so much more than my first sewing machine he bought me 7 years ago. Well, now that I have been sewing every day for the past 4 months, of course I want more. When I was learning to use my machine, I could not believe how may features it had and what all it did. I did not think you could get much better. Then I took the class for new owners, one of the girls there had the step up from my machine. I was blown away. I could not stop thinking about it. I knew the place that Chris bought my machine would let you upgrade, and I have saved up a good amount of money from things I have done in the past few weeks, so I went to just talk to the owner. Well, we were able to work out a deal, I ran to the ATM and home to get my machine and back to the store in record time, and I came home with a new one. I am so excited. It is kind of like going from a Toyota Camry to a Toyota Sequoia. I could not quit smiling in the store and on the way home. This new machine has features that I never dreamed existed. Of course I am going to have to go through learning new features all over again, but it is worth it. I can't wait to get busy with new outfits. I have just been practicing and using scraps tonight, but I think I am ready now! I'm so happy!!!

My other blog

I finally got my pictures together and set up a seperate blog for my clothes. I figured I better go ahead before I get too busy with Easter and spring clothes. I'm still working on a few new things so just keep checking back. I'm taking some more sewing classes in the next few months. One is the ruffle cuff , collared top and ruffled pants class. I think the pants also have ruffles on the bottom (backside), the outfit is so cute! The address is www.bowheadhairbowsandmore.blogspot.com

I have a nephew!

On December 30, my sister had the first boy on our side of the family. My mom had 4 girls, I have 2, Holly has 1, and now Brennan has broken the cycle. Not really sure what to do with him, but I guess we will figure it out. He was 8lbs. 21 inches long, doing great. I was able to take a video of Michael coming down the hall with him to show the family that is really sweet. Chris got me a new camera for Christmas and it does way more than what I was wanting, but I am glad, just not sure how to work everything on it yet. I took the video but I'm not sure what to do now. I'll try to get it on here soon, I guess I can, we'll see. But anyway, they are home now and we are going to see them tomorrow. I can't wait.
